Precious metals are applied because of their unique properties, such as having a high melting point, being chemically inert, an excellent conductor, highly resistant to tarnishing and corrosion, and because they are relatively easy to work with. IAM Drijfhout has a large product range of semi-finished products for all kind off applications. Our sheet, foil, wire, and tube are applied in the industrial sector in different kind of measurement instrumentations, such as oceanographical measuring instruments and flow measurers. To measure high temperatures (up to 1600°C) we supply thermocouple wire, used in the production of thermocouples. Medical devices, such as high-end x-ray equipment contain palladium parts. For analytical purposes, we offer a variety of laboratory equipment, and tubes and needles.
IAM Drijfhout has years of experience supplying sheet and foil made with high-quality rollers. This ensures a consistent production process where dimensions, surface finish, purity, and hardness can be customized to meet customer-specific requirements. Rods are available in various alloys and sizes. These are melted in a vacuum chamber, pressed under high pressure, and formed into a high-quality tube using rollers and diamond dies. Wire is available in various metals and alloys, with a purity of up to 99.99%. Wire can be produced both annealed and hardened and is available in all diameters from 0.1 mm.
We supply sheet and foil of different precious metals and alloys, such as silver, gold, platinum, and the alloy platinum-iridium. Foil can be manufactured from a thickness of 0.05 mm onwards, and can be cut into a variety of shapes.
Tube and rod are among others available in platinum, and platinum alloys with iridium or rhodium, and the alloy gold-palladium. Tubes can be produced with a inner diameter of 0.5 mm onwards, and can be cut at any desired length.
Wire can be produced in gold, silver, palladium, and platinum with alloys of iridium or rhodium. Wire is available in a large variety of diameters from 0.1 mm onwards. IAM Drijfhout can cut wire at any desired length with no minimum requirements.
Old or processed sheet material and semi-finished products can be brought to us for recycling. Due to our strong network of international metal processors, we recycle a wide range of precious metals and alloys. We also facilitate the recycling of polluted material.
